Academics
As a Christian preschool, we provide for the spiritual nurture of children and guide them in learning about God. We strive to provide an enriched learning environment for our students where they will learn valuable skills such as problem solving, creative expression, language, and self-help skills.
The elementary years are foundational for establishing the Biblical Worldview that Christian education provides. The elementary program (grades 1-5) at CCS is life-building, mind-stretching, heart-growing, and fun! A school-wide Bible memory program starts at the elementary level with age-appropriate passages assigned throughout the academic year. Bible instruction occurs at every grade level with the opportunity to integrate biblical truth and apply biblical principles in various settings and disciplines throughout the school day.
Elementary students experience a comprehensive literacy program with the integration of language arts including phonics, and differentiated word study, guided reading, and book studies. Differentiated instruction in math with a focus on conceptual understanding and mastering the basic facts challenges students at every level. Grade and age-appropriate instructional practices in science and social studies are presented at each elementary level emphasizing hands-on projects and student-created presentations and projects.
Middle school students (grades 6-8) are instructed in all of the core subjects: Bible, language arts, math, science, and social studies, as well as art, music, computer, Spanish, technology, and physical education.
The high school curriculum includes the core subjects of Bible, English, Math, Science, and Social Studies/History. There are also options for Spanish, Basic English, Foundational Math, and Intro to Bible. Dual Credit courses are available for students to take higher level courses while also earning college credit. Conestoga Christian School currently partners with Grand Canyon University and LeTourneau University to fulfill these dual credit courses.
Students in high school have a wide variety of electives including: physical education and health, art, media production, yearbook, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, music courses, and choir. Outside of the classroom setting, students have many opportunities to get involved through our sport programs, fall drama, spring musical, worship teams, student counsel, National Honor Society, and courageous cougar spirit club.
